I was born in Oklahoma City in 1994, but moved to Colorado Springs with my family when I was a young girl. I began doodling on random objects and pages, unknowingly practicing a surrealist technique called “automatic drawing”. Throughout my education at UCCS, I have explored this practice more extensively in a means to exercise the immediacy of my response to a canvas. I find expressing myself in this instinctive way to be raw and liberating, as well as a beautiful exploration of my most genuine self.
I am currently an intern at the Galleries of Contemporary Art in Colorado Springs. Some of my responsibilities include gallery tending, opening and closing the downtown gallery location, special art research and projects, show installation and take down, and boosting social media platform engagements.
